Established in 2018 by the visionary Neváda "Vada Nesta" Staples, Social Artistry emerged as a vital hub for Black business owners, in Greensboro, North Carolina, extending its reach nationally. Recognizing a crucial need for stronger connections within the community, Social Artistry initially took root as an entertainment management company. In this capacity, it diligently nurtured local talent, securing valuable performance opportunities at prominent events such as the Earth Girl Festival and the Downtown Block Party, thereby amplifying Black creative voices.
Furthering its diverse offerings, Social Artistry introduced Culture Code, a distinctive brand specializing in unique jewelry, literature, and captivating gemstones. These curated collections were showcased at significant community gatherings, including the Earth Girl Festival and the annual LGBTQ Cookout in nearby Winston-Salem, NC, demonstrating a commitment to both artistic expression and community engagement.
Following a period of strategic restructuring, Social Artistry has re-emerged with a sharpened focus and a renewed dedication to its core mission. At the heart of this revitalized vision is a commitment to building a robust and interconnected community of Black queer Artists, Business Owners, and Community Leaders, actively facilitating connections with their target markets. A key element of this new chapter is a dynamic partnership with the acclaimed Black queer band IyeRoot. Through this collaboration, Social Artistry aims to deliver impactful and resonant live music experiences tailored for the queer community, further solidifying its role as a cultural catalyst.
Beyond the realm of performance, Social Artistry provides comprehensive music services, encompassing band bookings, songwriting expertise, and collaborative project development, supporting the creative endeavors of Black queer musicians.
Looking ahead, Social Artistry is deeply committed to expanding its community outreach initiatives. A central goal is to inspire and equip queer youth with the essential resources and invaluable guidance necessary to fully realize their creative aspirations, fostering the next generation of Black queer artistic and entrepreneurial leaders.
